Delivery Man

Sponsored post

Attended a screening of Delivery Man with my brother on Dec 20, courtesy of Nuffnang! 🙂 Starring Vince Vaughn, Chris Pratt, and Cobie Smulders, it’s a comedy that’s a remake of Starbuck (2011). Out in local cinemas on 1 Jan!

“An affable underachiever finds out he’s fathered 533 children through anonymous donations to a fertility clinic 20 years ago. Now he must decide whether or not to come forward when 142 of them file a lawsuit to reveal his identity.”

Delivery Man

Normally, comedy is the last second genre (out of all the main ones) I’d watch (the last being animation) in theatres because I tend to find them unfunny and not worth the money. Even on a whole, I rarely watch movies that are purely comedy. So I wasn’t expecting much from Delivery Man.

Turned out it was actually pretty okay and there was genuine humour at some parts! Not crude-and-try-too-hard funny but the good kind so that was a definite plus. To be honest, I did fall asleep at some parts not because it was boring but because I came from a Christmas party and was slightly tipsy (lol), but whatever I did see, I liked.

Storyline was fresh and heartwarming, the characters were real and likeable, and it was an entertaining flick with some pretty good moments. Not Oscar material nor the kind critics would rave about, but it’s a feel-good movie for when you are in the mood for something light-hearted.

My rating: 6/10

“How does a normal person handle a situation like this?”
“A normal person would not be in this situation.”

Dinner at Aston’s afterwards ^^ Photos look different from my usual because I’ve stopped using my digicam ever since I got my S3 which died earlier that night. So I had to use my brother’s phone but the pictures turned out weird…

I know, I know, I have been blogging. I guess you can say I’ve pretty much given up on it for now because I have a lot of other things to do and a lot of stuff going on all the time. And when I’m not doing anything, all I want to do is read and watch movies. Super love Goodreads and IMDB! 😀

Just look at how many events I have yet to blog about, and they are the ones WITH photos -_- Not forgetting sub-folders… Don’t think I’ll ever finish. Don’t even know who still reads my blog anyway. One of the extensions on my blog needs fixing but I can’t be bothered so I no longer have a view counter nor do my entries get automatically shared on Facebook.

Can you believe it’s the second last day of the year already? This is insane!

My mom is better than yours

Before you get all offended by the title, it’s just a hashtag type of phrase Tumblr fangirls use e.g. [celebrity] is better than all of you. But yes my mother is very awesome and here’s why I love her to bits:

– Brought me to Bangkok (we went with my aunt)
– Let me have the window seat because it was my first time on the plane
– Bought me everything I wanted and barely anything for herself
– Paid for all my shopping (I only contributed $400 for the whole trip to  partially cover flights, hotel and insurance)
– Did all the planning, booking, packing, research and reading of online reviews (I did zilch)
– Led us around all the awesome places despite it being her first time there
– Put up with all my whining as usual 😀

Had such a marvelous time, mostly thanks to her! Gonna just briefly post a few photos from the trip, detailed post will be up when I have the time 🙂

Haul from the first day (just till the late afternoon)
I counted 11 dresses and 1 pair of shoes I think.

 photo IMG330.jpg

Haul from the first two days! 😀

None of the apparels exceeded 200 baht ($8) ok!! One pair of denim shorts there is only 60 baht ($2.40) like can you believe it. Most expensive item was a swimsuit at 450 baht ($18) followed by a pair of shoes for 390 baht ($15).

 photo IMG329.jpg

Thing is their quality is as good as local blogshops where one item is $25 – $30. Feel so cheated now wtf. I got dresses for like 50 – 80 baht there ($2 – $3). I keep exclaiming ‘Scammer!’ every time I pass by stores in Singapore now lololol.

Omg the ribbon shoes I can’t even. Remember this?! My first and favourite pair at $22 which I’ve worn out and thrown away. Same goes for another grey pair. They had the biggest and squishiest ribbons ever!! My mom was the one who pointed these new ones out to me and we bargained till one pair was about $13. I went absolutely fangirly and insane for the rest of the day.

So not obvious that I like bows, silver, pink and polka dots, right?
I have 5 (should have been 7!) pairs of those ribbon shoes in cream, black, red, silver, and pink now, ha!!!

The $15 shoes. Love all my things ^^

# My mom is better than yours (this I say with utmost conviction)
# My guinea pig is cuter than yours (ditto)
# My things are nicer than yours

Day before I left Singapore (19 Aug) was a super good one too! Completed two Carousell deals, had lunch at Kiseki Japanese Buffet with Annabelle, then dinner at Pastamania and movie (Tales From The Dark 2) with You You 😀
Blogged about Kiseki before but I only posted collages of the food instead of close-ups so here you go!

Decided to go with a simple outfit that day:

Navy blue top – $1 from Song & Song
Silver pants – $5 from Bugis Street
River Island bag – $0 (have you read about it?)
Silver shoes – $24 from Zalora (why I need to stop shopping online)
