Got invites to Fist of Dragon’s Gala Premiere on 26 July so I went with Darilene! We went to the wrong venue at first because I confused Cathay Cineleisure with Cathay Cineplex hahaha omg feel so bad. And was contemplating whether to change out of the formal dress I wore for a school presentation but luckily I didn’t! It turned out to be a super exclusive event.
My pass and ticket 🙂
Lead actor cum director Michael Chuah was there, and so was Henry Thia.
Didn’t take much photos though, because I was feeling too shy and awkward LOL
Loved Henry Thia’s and Monday Kang’s characters best! And they acted very well too.
The former’s character was super comedic and the latter played a villian.
At the preview lounge with Darilene 😀
The “cocktail session” turned out to be a full blown reception!
Food was sooooo gooood 🙂
Movie Synopsis
“Fist of Dragon” tells the story of Li, who comes to Southeast Asia upon the request of his father to help out his uncle who has been facing financial difficulties. Li, upon arriving in town, feels out of place due to cultural differences. When he discovers that his uncle has been facing many hardships posed by the local mobsters, Li decides to stay and help his uncle get rid of them.
However, Li encounters numerous resistances from the locals as his actions incur the wrath of the triad and drags the whole town into turmoil. Moreover, his uncle’s daughter, Lily is on the triad’s side, and their relationship is badly affected when the confrontation between the two groups reaches its peak.
I like the themes in the movie a lot, especially how the town unites with one another to go against the hooligans. Like it teaches you something – to not be afraid to stand up to what you believe in. I think fans of the action genre would also like the movie because the action sequences were all very intense!
