Day #01 – Your best friend

Best friend

They say true friends can go long periods of time without speaking and never question their friendship. These friends pick up like they just spoke yesterday regardless of how long it has been or how far away they live and don’t hold grudges. They understand that life is busy, but that you will always love them.

Dear YouYou,

Meeting you and becoming your friend was one of the best things to have happened in my life. You are one of the 2 people who made me not regret going to AISS.

You taught me the value of true friendship. Thank you so much for everything in these 5 years and counting. For the times you were there, the listening ear you lent, the advice you give, the comfort and support you offered. But it’s not just that.

I love the times we spend together and the things we do together. Even the most boring thing becomes fun with you around. Such as lessons, when we text each other despite being just 2 or 3 seats apart. And when we skip PE and go round stalking or snucking about.

Shopping and all our little games. We can spend the whole day in a small mall, just walking around and chatting. Coloring our arms with colored markers and making them seem as if they are poisoned. Vandalism on tables. Shared gossip. A secret language that only we understand. Inside jokes.

I could just go on and on forever.

I love how we never run out of things to talk about. Before class, during class, after class, during CCA (even in CO room while Teacher is talking, we sms), during breaks, etc. Time spent together always never seems enough, isn’t it.

Even though we don’t talk as much anymore, I still feel as close to you, like nothing has changed. And I’m proven right after the few occasions we meet and go out – everything still feels the same as before despite the distance. I guess that’s really true friendship.

I hope this friendship lasts forever. I can picture us sitting down to a cup of tea and yakking away under the sun at 80 years old.

Let this letter be part of my present to you. May we create even more memories together.

Happy birthday, best friend.
And I love you.
